01Walk into wine country
Vineyard views, village roads and time to enjoy the landscape between your appointments.

Dealu Mare private wine tour
Discover Romania through its vineyards, cellar doors and country tables. A private day from Bucharest with your own Mercedes, an English-speaking guide-driver and winery visits selected around your taste.
The experience
Leave Bucharest behind and follow the road into Dealu Mare, where vineyards stretch across the foothills of the southern Carpathians. This is a day for discovering Romanian wine through the places that shape it: village roads, working cellars, estate hospitality and a leisurely lunch.
Your experience begins at your hotel or agreed address. Travelling privately in a Mercedes E-Class or V-Class, you have time for landscape stops and conversation with your guide-driver before a pre-arranged winery visit. Depending on the estate and package, a host introduces the production spaces and leads a tasting that connects the glass with the vineyard.
Explore local varieties such as Fetească Neagră alongside international grapes, and discover how different producers interpret the region. We select the tasting around your interests, whether you prefer structured reds, fresh whites, aromatic wines or a first introduction to Romanian wine.
The six places below are a selection from which we design your day. Choose a heritage stop and one winery, or compare two estates with lunch in between. Each route is tailored to appointment times, travel distances and your preferred pace.
01Vineyard views, village roads and time to enjoy the landscape between your appointments.
02Discover oak ageing and the winemaker’s choices on the cellar tour included in your selected package.
03A guided tasting connects the wines with the production process, while your private driver takes care of the return.
Choose your stops
A museum, distinctive wineries and a country lunch stop offer different ways to discover Dealu Mare. Visits are requested individually and confirmed before booking.
Begin with the cultural story of Romanian wine. This museum recreates a historic wine cellar and introduces traditional tools, rural craftsmanship and the place of the vine in local life. It adds context before a modern winery visit and suits guests who enjoy history as much as tasting. This is a museum stop; a wine tasting is not assumed to be included.
Discover a producer whose identity is connected with the Basilescu family story. A requested tasting offers a chance to explore its wines and the character of local varieties alongside your host’s selection. It is an appealing option for guests interested in family heritage and a personal introduction to the region. The tasting format, host language and available wines are confirmed for your date.
Combine a winery visit with the atmosphere of a country manor and time for lunch. Vinalia offers cellar tours and tastings accompanied by cheese and other small bites, with a restaurant on the property for a longer meal. It can anchor a relaxed day in Ceptura. Published tasting conditions specify a minimum group of six and Romanian-language sessions; arrangements for smaller parties and English support require confirmation.
Explore a contemporary producer with a broad range of Romanian and international grape varieties. Budureasca offers organised tasting experiences, making it an option for discovering different wine styles within one visit. We help select a package suited to your interests, from a general introduction to a more focused tasting. Wines, cellar access and the exact experience depend on the package reserved.
Consider a countryside food stop between winery appointments, with traditional Romanian dishes and time to enjoy the rural setting. Ferma Dacilor is presented here as an optional dining stop, rather than a winery tasting. Current operation, the exact venue, menu and reservation availability must be confirmed directly for your travel date; an alternative lunch location can be arranged if needed.
Make LacertA the centrepiece of your day with a pre-booked winery tour and guided tasting. Discover the relationship between production, oak ageing and the finished wine through the spaces available on your visit. Its range includes both individual varieties and blends, offering scope for a first introduction or a more detailed tasting. Allow time to enjoy the vineyard surroundings and choose bottles to take home.
